NZD Loses Ground as RBNZ Inflation Expectations Ease
The New Zealand Dollar (NZD) extended its losses for the fourth consecutive day, trading around 0.5840 during Asian hours on Thursday.
This came after the release of RBNZ Inflation Expectations, which showed that two-year inflation expectations eased to 2.34% in Q3 2026 from 2.53% in Q2.
The one-year forward inflation projections settled at 2.6%, but this may not be enough to halt the NZD/USD pair's losing streak, as some market participants expect another quarter-point rate increase by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) next month.
