NZD Sinks Below 0.5900 Amid US-Iran Uncertainty and Strong US Data
The New Zealand Dollar (NZD) softened below 0.5900 against the US Dollar (USD) on Tuesday, following stronger-than-expected US economic data and ongoing uncertainty surrounding US-Iran talks.
According to fxstreet.com, the NZD/USD pair lost traction to near 0.5870 during Asian trading hours, pressured by safe-haven flows driven by concerns over global tensions.
The Institute for Supply Management's (ISM) Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rose to 55.6 in July from 53.3 in June, beating market consensus of 54.0 and adding to the USD's strength.
New Zealand's employment report is due out on Wednesday, which could provide some insight into the country's labor market conditions and potentially influence the NZD's value.
