NZD Tumbles Against USD as Risk Appetite Sours Amid AI Fears
The New Zealand Dollar (NZD) experienced its second consecutive day of decline against the US Dollar (USD), falling by 0.37% on Tuesday due to a decrease in risk appetite.
The downturn was fueled by concerns from AI company CEOs regarding the rapid pace of technological advancements and high energy prices, which have led markets to expect further tightening from the Federal Reserve (Fed).
At the time of writing, the NZD/USD exchange rate stood at 0.5757, having reached a two-month low of 0.5750.
The technical outlook suggests that the downtrend remains intact, with key support levels located at 0.5750 and 0.5700. A breakdown below these levels would expose further downside potential, potentially reaching as low as 0.5626, which is the year-to-date low.
