NZD Tumbles Amid RBNZ Policy Uncertainty and Weakening USD

The New Zealand Dollar (NZD) has struggled to maintain its gains in recent trading sessions, as investors grow increasingly cautious about the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's (RBNZ) policy outlook.

Despite a rate hike last week, the NZD faces pressure from market uncertainty surrounding the RBNZ's future moves. This cautious sentiment has led to a depreciation of the NZD/USD pair, trading around 0.5880 during European hours on Monday.

The US Dollar (USD) is also experiencing weakness due to broader market uncertainty ahead of crucial US inflation data releases. Goldman Sachs noted that a benign Consumer Price Index reading could prevent the Federal Reserve from raising interest rates, despite robust August labor market figures.

August Nonfarm Payrolls increased by 162,000, exceeding expectations of 56,000, while the Unemployment Rate held steady at 4.1%. The Dollar's focus has shifted to upcoming US CPI print, with Deutsche Bank highlighting that 'attention now turns to inflation.'
