NZD/USD Bounces Ahead of US CPI Report, Faces Resistance
The New Zealand Dollar is making a comeback against the US Dollar ahead of today's highly anticipated US Consumer Price Index report. This morning, NZD/USD jumped by more than 0.50% after plummeting following yesterday's US PPI release.
The pair broke below support around 0.5830 but buyers intervened to stall the decline at a low of 0.5790. The current recovery has retested the former support around 0.5830, which has now turned into resistance.
This sudden reversal suggests that positioning and profit-taking ahead of the US CPI report may be driving the NZD's recovery rather than a significant change in its outlook. Despite this, negative market sentiment remains strong due to ongoing global uncertainties such as the US-Iran conflict and oil prices above $100 per barrel.
