NZD/USD Consolidates Ahead of US NFP Report as USD Strengthens

USD NZD

The NZD/USD pair continues to consolidate above the weekly low of 0.5860, as traders wait for the US Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) report. The USD has gained strength due to geopolitical uncertainties and bets for a Fed interest rate hike, capping the upside for the pair.

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand's hawkish tilt continues to support the Kiwi, keeping the NZD/USD above 0.5860. However, the technical setup remains mixed, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) hovering near the neutral 50 line and the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) ticking slightly negative.

The pair maintains a mildly bullish near-term bias, with any further slide likely to attract buyers near the 0.5868 area. Bulls may await sustained strength above 0.5900 before placing fresh bets, potentially extending the recent goodish recovery move from the year-to-date low of 0.5625.

The NZD/USD pair seesaws between tepid gains and minor losses ahead of the US NFP report, which will play a key role in influencing USD price dynamics and providing a fresh impetus to the currency pair.
