NZD/USD Consolidates Near June High as Bulls Await Breakout
The NZD/USD pair is consolidating near its June high, trading around 0.5975 during the Asian session.
This comes after a downbeat Retail Sales data in New Zealand acted as a headwind for the New Zealand Dollar (NZD).
However, weaker sentiment surrounding the US Dollar (USD) continues to support the currency pair.
From a technical perspective, Friday's breakout above 0.5900 was seen as a fresh trigger for NZD/USD bulls.
The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator remains slightly positive, and spot prices hold well above the 200-period Simple Moving Average (SMA) at 0.5845.
Despite strong upside momentum, a convincing break below this SMA would be needed to negate the near-term constructive outlook.
