NZD/USD Pauses Ahead of US NFP as Geopolitics and Fed Bets Weigh

The NZD/USD pair is experiencing a mixed session ahead of the US Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) report, which will play a crucial role in shaping near-term USD price dynamics. The release has traders opting to move to the sidelines, resulting in tepid gains and minor losses for the currency pair.

Despite this, persistent geopolitical uncertainties and bets for at least one interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve (Fed) are acting as a tailwind for the safe-haven USD, capping the NZD/USD pair. However, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's (RBNZ) hawkish tilt continues to underpin the Kiwi, keeping it above the 0.5860 level.

The area around 0.5860 coincides with a horizontal resistance breakpoint and is expected to act as a key pivotal point for short-term traders. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is hovering near the neutral 50 line, indicating a consolidative tone rather than a strongly trending market.
