NZD Weakens Below 0.5800 on Dovish RBNZ Signals

The New Zealand Dollar (NZD) weakened against the US Dollar (USD) on Monday during Asian trading hours, falling to around 0.5790.

This decline came after a dovish rate hike by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ), which raised the Official Cash Rate (OCR) by 25 basis points to 2.75% earlier this month.

The RBNZ stated that the current rate remains accommodative, and the bank is focused on a 'gradual removal of monetary stimulus', dampening market expectations for an aggressive tightening cycle and exerting selling pressure on the Kiwi.
