OECD Headline Inflation Eases to 4.2% in June

OECD headline inflation declined to 4.2% in June 2026, down from 4.6% in May, driven by a temporary drop in energy inflation.

The decline was seen across 20 OECD countries, while it rose in six and remained stable or broadly stable in 12 others.

In the G7, year-on-year headline inflation fell to 3.0% in June, primarily due to a 5.2 percentage point drop in energy inflation.

The euro area saw headline inflation decrease to 2.8%, with food inflation reaching its lowest level in five years and energy inflation falling.
