Global financial markets saw gains on Monday as oil prices retreated following Iran's announcement to suspend attacks in exchange for the US maintaining its pause in airstrikes.

The decline in energy prices eased inflation and rate concerns, supporting demand for equities and government bonds. The S&P 500 futures rose 0.7%, while Nasdaq futures climbed 1.1%.

Investors are positioning cautiously ahead of central bank meetings from the US Federal Reserve, Bank of England, and Bank of Japan, as well as major earnings releases from technology companies like Microsoft, Meta Platforms, Amazon, Apple, and Qualcomm.

The Brent crude price fell 5.2% to $91.73 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) dropped 5.4% to $84.45. The US Treasury yields and the dollar also retreated modestly.
