Oil Prices, Inflation, and Meta Drive Stock Market Gains
Stock markets are experiencing a boost due to low oil prices and under-control US inflation. Meta's stock has soared by 3% after reaching an agreement with the US justice system, which will pay a maximum of $16.68 billion to settle accusations that Facebook and Instagram created addiction in minors and improperly collected personal data.
Nvidia's quarterly financial results are expected soon, which could influence the market as any signs of slowing growth may reignite concerns about its high valuations and the AI boom. Apple has gained more than 1%, while Lumentum stands out among tech stocks with a 2.5% increase.
Oil prices have fallen below $90 per barrel, with Brent crude trading at $88 and WTI Crude Oil at $82. The value of European natural gas is also declining, but remains high above 65 euros per megawatt hour.
