Omers Gains C$6.9 Billion on Strong Dollar and Stocks
The Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (Omers) reported a return of 4.8% in the first half of 2026, gaining C$6.9 billion ($5 billion) from a strong US dollar and rising stock market.
Omers' Chief Executive Officer Blake Hutcheson stated that the pension 'had a pleasing start to 2026' despite an increasingly complex global dynamic.
The gains were fueled by stocks and the strengthening US dollar, which added to Omers' portfolio value.
