One ECB Rate Hike May Be Enough, Says ING Economist
Marieke Blom, chief economist and global head of research at ING, believes that one interest rate hike from the European Central Bank could be sufficient to address inflationary pressures. In an interview on Bloomberg Television, Blom stated that core inflation, services, wages, and other factors do not indicate significant inflationary pressure.
Blom's comments come ahead of tomorrow's European Central Bank decision on interest rates. According to her, a single rate hike could be enough to address the current economic situation, suggesting that more aggressive monetary policy tightening may not be necessary at this time.
