OSFI Welcomes Jing Yang as Deputy Superintendent, Risk Strategy and Policy

Jing Yang has joined the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) as Deputy Superintendent, Risk, Strategy and Policy. Her appointment was announced by Superintendent Peter Routledge in April 2026.

Yang's role will focus on regulatory modernization efforts to support financial resilience, competition, and economic growth. She will oversee policy and guideline development, risk surveillance and quantification, strategic planning, enterprise risk management, finance, procurement, contracting, and data governance functions.

Yang comes from the Bank of Canada, where she was Managing Director of Economic and Financial Research. Previously, she led the Bank's Financial Stability Department, responsible for risk assessment, crisis management, and oversight of financial market infrastructures.

Yang holds a doctorate in economics from Concordia University and master's and bachelor's degrees in economics from Fudan University.
