Pakistan Rupee Remains Stable Against US Dollar Amid Minor Decline
The State Bank of Pakistan released its Mark-to-Market Currency Rates report for July 31, 2026. The US Dollar (USD) closed the month at 277.8036 in the ready market, down from 277.8618 on July 27. Despite this small decline, the rupee saw almost no movement against its most critical trading partner.
The Saudi Riyal (SAR) and U.A.E Dirham (AED) also showed slight changes, with SAR going down to 73.9843 from 74.0215 and AED decreasing to 75.6422 from 75.6498. However, the Canadian Dollar (CAD) rose significantly, increasing almost a full rupee from 197.1560 to 198.1481.
The British Pound (GBP) saw substantial growth, rising to 373.4513 from 370.5149, erasing much of the rupee's gains since the month began. This rise represents a near 5.1% deprecation per year since July, with the one-year rate now at 392.62.
The Bahraini Dinar and Omani Rial also gained against the Pakistani rupee, while the Turkish Lira moved up to 5.8454 in the ready market but showed slower depreciation compared to previous months.
