Peller's $30,000 Counterfeit Wedding Cash Leaves Him Reeling

Nigerian TikTok streamer Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, was left stunned when bank officials rejected nearly $30,000 in U.S. dollar bills sprayed on him during his traditional wedding ceremony.

The incident occurred on August 1, 2026, in Lekki, Lagos, where Peller tied the knot with fellow creator Elizabeth Amadou (Jarvis).

Peller took to a TikTok livestream to explain what happened when he went to deposit the cash gifts collected during the event.

While local Naira currency was accepted and processed without issues, bank tellers flagged the foreign bills as counterfeit notes upon verification.
