Peso Takes Hit as Warsh Signals Aggressive Inflation Fight

The Mexican Peso has weakened against the US dollar after Federal Reserve Governor Kevin Warsh's hawkish comments. Warsh emphasized the need for sustained rate hikes to combat inflation, even if it means slower economic growth.

This stance was interpreted by traders as a shift toward a more restrictive approach, strengthening the dollar and pressuring emerging market currencies like the Peso.

The USD/MXN pair rose to 18.75, up 1.2% from the previous close, marking the steepest daily decline for the Peso in three weeks.
