Pound Falls as Fed Uncertainty and Dollar Strength Weigh on GBP/USD
The Pound Sterling (GBP) has slipped in value against the US Dollar (USD), trading near 1.3500 during Asian hours on Wednesday.
This comes after a flat performance in the previous session, with investors remaining split on the Federal Reserve's rate path following its decision to leave interest rates unchanged in July.
The recent climb in crude oil prices has bolstered arguments for a more hawkish stance, but expectations for a 25-basis-point rate increase in September have eased to nearly 48%, down from 52% just a day earlier.
