Pound Rebounds Against Dollar Amid Softer Jobs Data

The British Pound rebounded against the US Dollar on Tuesday, rising 0.14% as softer-than-expected US jobs data weighed on the Greenback.

According to the JOLTS report, job openings in June dipped from 7.537 million to 7.359 million, below forecasts of 7.4 million. This was attributed to a slowdown in healthcare, wholesale trade, business services, and leisure and hospitality sectors.

Hopes that the US and Iran might reach a deal on Wednesday to reopen the Strait of Hormuz pushed Oil prices lower, with West Texas Intermediate (WTI) falling 4% to $76.73 per barrel.
