Pound Sterling Surges Past 1.3500 Amid Hawkish Bank of England
The British Pound Sterling has reached its highest level since mid-July, trading near 1.3500 against the US Dollar.
This follows a pattern of increasing hawkishness from the Bank of England, with the latest vote count showing six votes to three in favor of keeping interest rates at 3.75% on July 30.
The minority preferred a quarter-point increase and framed the majority position as a pause rather than a stop.
This trend has been consistent since April, growing from a single dissenter to two and then three consecutive meetings.
