Pound Surges to Seven-Week High Against New Zealand Dollar
The Pound to New Zealand Dollar exchange rate briefly reached a seven-week high last week due to the New Zealand dollar's decline following the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's interest rate decision.
Although the Pound struggled to sustain its upside, it currently trades at NZ$2.2988, up 0.4% on the week.
The New Zealand dollar edged lower early in the week due to an anxious market mood, but regained some ground later as sentiment improved.
The Pound's movement was influenced by UK bank holiday and interest rate hike bets, while bond yields also played a significant role.
In the coming week, the key UK data release will be the latest GDP figures on Friday. If the British economy slowed in July, the Pound could end the week on the back foot.
