Pound Trades Flat as Dollar Finds Support in Treasury Yields
The pound traded flat against the US dollar on Tuesday as the greenback received support from firmer U.S. Treasuries ahead of this week's Jackson Hole risk event.
GBP/USD stood at 1.3634, down 0.01% on the day, while EUR/USD traded at 1.1663, also down 0.01% as of 07:00 ET (11:00 GMT).
FX strategist Francesco Pesole at ING noted that developed currencies started the week quietly despite numerous headlines.
Pesole added that US-Canada trade tensions are driving currency moves, with Washington's 50% tariff threat on Canadian autos seen as part of an escalating dispute.
