Qantas Rolls Out Economy Plus Upgrade for Comfort-Conscious Travelers
Qantas has introduced Economy Plus on select domestic and international routes as an upgrade to its standard economy seating. The airline listened to customer feedback regarding limited legroom in standard economy, which offers a 30-inch seat pitch. To address this issue, Qantas added a third lavatory for economy passengers and launched Economy Plus.
Economy Plus is available on the Boeing 737, Airbus A220, and Airbus A321XLR fleets, covering flights across Australia and to select international destinations including New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, and Bali. The upgraded seats offer more legroom, early boarding, first access to overhead lockers, and a seat near the front of the cabin for quicker exit.
The standard Economy Plus product offers 34-inch seat pitch, while the Economy Plus Front seats provide 39 inches of legroom, surpassing even business class. The upgrade costs around $105 to $113 per sector on certain routes, making it a cost-effective option for passengers seeking more comfort without breaking the bank.
