Qantas has launched a major international sale to boost bookings amid a slump in profits. The airline's fuel bill surged by over $500 million in the last year, and it warns that airfares may remain higher for longer.

The week-long sale slashes economy fares across seven popular destinations in Qantas' US and Canada network. Economy return fares to Las Vegas start from $1,249 from Sydney, with travel available on select dates from January 19 to February 16, 2027.

Qantas International CEO Cam Wallace said the sale had something to suit every type of traveller. 'Las Vegas has been one of the most talked-about additions to our network in years and this sale gives customers the chance to lock in a seat on the only nonstop flight between Australia and the entertainment capital of the world,' he said.
