Qarbotech's Photosynthesis Enhancer Expands to 7,500 Farmers Globally

Malaysian agritech startup Qarbotech is expanding its global footprint. Its technology, QarboGrow, a carbon quantum dot-based photosynthesis enhancer, has been adopted by nearly 7,500 farmers worldwide.

The company's flagship product was developed through research in Malaysia and aims to improve plants' ability to utilise sunlight more efficiently.

Qarbotech co-founder and CEO Chor Chee Hoe stated that QarboGrow recorded almost RM3 million in sales last year, with a significant share generated from overseas markets.

The company is currently conducting pilot trials in Japan and has prospective customers considering purchases if the trials are successful.

Qarbotech won the Grand Prize at the SusHi Tech Challenge 2026 Global Startup Pitch Competition in Tokyo, receiving 10 million Japanese yen (approximately US$61,000) in prize money.
