Querétaro Companies Navigate Complex Dollar Fluctuations

The devaluation of the US dollar has been affecting companies in Querétaro, Mexico, but its impact is complex and not entirely negative. According to Alfredo Sahagún Sánchez, president of Canacintra, the sector's national chamber, the fluctuation in exchange rates has both positive and negative effects on local businesses.

Sahagún emphasized that while Mexican companies buying in dollars benefit from the devaluation, those that export face difficulties due to the contradiction. The dollar's value has fallen below the 17-peso mark, causing companies to adjust their exchange rates.

Cuauhtemoc Acevedo Toledo, president of Amiqro, an association representing industrial micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in Querétaro, agrees that the devaluation creates opportunities for importers. He notes that a drop in the dollar's value allows them to maintain profit margins based on previous exchange rates.

The industry is awaiting the outcome of the US elections, which could potentially alter the dollar's trend. For now, companies are working to balance their imports and exports despite the challenges posed by the fluctuating exchange rate.
