RBA Cash Rate Hold Sends Consumer Sentiment Soaring
The Reserve Bank of Australia's decision to hold the cash rate led to a significant increase in consumer sentiment, rising by 6% to 88.9 in August from July.
This monthly gain was largely driven by mortgage holders who responded after the RBA announcement on August 11, resulting in a rebound from the previous month.
Despite this improvement, overall confidence remains below last year's levels and is still in pessimistic territory at 88.9, which is lower than the long-run average of 100.2.
