RBA Hires Former Services Australia CIO for Key Role
Charles McHardie is leaving his role as chief information officer (CIDO) at Services Australia to join the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) in October. His last day at Services Australia will be September 19, with Claire Roennfeldt taking on interim CIDO responsibilities.
McHardie joined Services Australia in early 2020 and led the welfare payments infrastructure transformation, a major Centrelink payments technology overhaul. He has over four-and-a-half years of experience as IT and digital chief at Services Australia.
The Reserve Bank of Australia announced that McHardie will begin as their new CIO on October 19. The bank's previous CIO, Stephen Smith, retired in June after five years in the role.
