RBA Holds Interest Rates Amid Albanese Government's Spending-Fueled Inflation

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has decided to keep interest rates at their current high level, despite calls for relief from struggling families and households.

This decision comes after a statement from Shadow Treasurer Tim Wilson, who said that the RBA's hand has been forced into this position due to the Albanese government's spending spree and active inflation agenda.

According to Wilson, the underlying inflation rate has increased from 2.1% in August 2021 to 3.6% currently, with the difference attributed to the Albanese government's policies.

The RBA itself noted that headline inflation is still too high and trimmed mean inflation remains elevated at a little-changed level.
