RBA Holds Rates as Australian Dollar Stabilizes Amid Sticky Inflation
The Australian Dollar (AUD) has stabilized following the Reserve Bank of Australia's (RBA) decision to hold interest rates steady.
This move reflects a delicate balance between addressing persistent price pressures and avoiding an economic slowdown, according to Commerzbank analysts.
Inflation, while moderating, remains above the RBA's 2-3% target band, prompting the central bank to maintain its cautious approach.
The AUD has been trading in a narrow range against the US dollar, with the yield differential between Australian and US government bonds playing a key role. The 10-year Australian government bond yield stands at around 4.2%, while the equivalent US Treasury yields 4.5%.
