RBA Holds Rates as Inflation Eases

The Reserve Bank of Australia's (RBA) decision to hold interest rates may have been influenced by softer inflation numbers, according to recent data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Trimmed mean inflation, the RBA's preferred measure of underlying inflation, rose to 3.6 per cent in June, up from 3.5 per cent in March.

This increase was slightly lower than what economists had predicted, and may provide some relief for consumers who have been facing rising living costs.
