RBA Keeps Interest Rates Steady Amid Ongoing Economic Uncertainty
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has decided to keep interest rates on hold at 4.35 per cent, giving Wyndham mortgage holders and businesses a temporary reprieve from further increases.
This decision follows three cash rate hikes since the beginning of 2026, which have raised borrowing costs for households and businesses.
The RBA Board unanimously agreed to maintain the current cash rate on August 11, citing tighter financial conditions that are starting to slow down the economy as expected.
This pause in interest rate increases means no new RBA-driven rise in mortgage repayments for Wyndham homeowners with variable-rate mortgages this month. However, existing higher rates remain in place, continuing to strain household budgets and discretionary spending.
