RBA Keeps Rates Steady Amid Persistent Inflationary Pressures

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) maintained its benchmark interest rate at 4.35% during its recent monetary policy meeting, aligning with analyst expectations.

The decision was unanimous among RBA members, who signaled that inflationary pressures persist, partly due to the ongoing US-Iran conflict in the Middle East.

The Australian economy has shown structural resilience, but inflation remains above the RBA's target band of 2%, 3%, at a year-on-year rate of 3.80% in June.

Following the announcement, the AUD/USD pair appreciated marginally by 0.08% against the US dollar to $0.7059, reflecting market caution ahead of key US inflation data scheduled for release on August 12th.
