RBA Names Melinda Cilento to Monetary Policy Board
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has announced the appointment of Melinda Cilento to its Monetary Policy Board, effective September 1, 2026. The five-year term replaces outgoing member Professor Ian Harper AO, who ends his tenure on August 31, 2026.
Cilento brings extensive experience in economics, public policy, and business leadership, having served as chief executive of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia, Commissioner at the Productivity Commission, and chief economist and deputy CEO at the Business Council of Australia.
RBA governor thanks Professor Harper for his dedication and insights over the past decade. Cilento's broad perspective will be a valuable addition to the board's deliberations, according to the RBA.
