Australia's inflation rate is set to be a hot topic as Reserve Bank of Australia officials prepare for their next interest rate meeting.

RBA governor Michele Bullock and chief economist Sarah Hunter will speak publicly ahead of the September 29 meeting, which has sparked expectations of another interest rate hike.

The RBA has already raised rates three times in 2026, with markets now pricing in a four-in-five chance that the cash rate will be increased by 25 basis points on September 29.

However, some experts believe the RBA may choose to wait until November for another hike, citing the bank's preference to move after less volatile quarterly inflation data rather than reacting to noisy monthly prints.
