RBA Seen Holding Off Further Rate Hikes This Year
Standard Chartered's Nicholas Chia expects the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) to keep the cash rate at 4.35% at its upcoming meeting on August 11, with no further hikes this year.
The bank points out that Q2 core inflation and short-term expectations have eased, while the labour market has softened.
However, Standard Chartered warns that another rate hike in Q4 remains a risk if demand does not slow sufficiently.
