RBC Cuts Stake in HCA Healthcare Amid Sector Revaluation
Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has reduced its stake in HCA Healthcare, Inc. by 14% during the first quarter, according to a recent 13F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The institution owned 886,505 shares of HCA's stock after selling 144,678 shares during the quarter.
The institutional investor's stake in HCA Healthcare is now valued at $419 million, representing about 0.40% of the company's total stock. This reduction in RBC's holdings is part of a broader trend among large investors who are reassessing their positions in the healthcare sector after HCA reported strong second-quarter earnings.
HCA Healthcare has faced some challenges related to its payer mix, with nearly all of its Affordable Care Act patients reportedly becoming uninsured. However, analysts have maintained positive ratings for the company, citing its strong revenue growth and ability to manage costs. The company's quarterly dividend payment of $0.78 per share also provides ongoing shareholder return.
