Royal Bank of Canada (TSX:RY) has made significant moves in the financial sector, including the completion of multiple fixed-income offerings and the introduction of its AI-assisted retail credit underwriting platform. The bank's new callable senior unsecured notes have maturities ranging from 2029 to 2038, while it also issued €850 million of floating rate eurodollar bonds under its global medium-term note programme.

The AI underwriting platform earned an IDC CIO Awards Canada 2026 win, which highlights the bank's investment in digital efficiency and fee-based growth. The ATOM model used by RBC is expected to support operational improvements and contribute to projected AI-driven enterprise value gains by 2027.

While the recent announcements do not significantly alter the near-term focus on credit quality and provisions for credit losses, they underscore the bank's push for digital efficiency and fee-based growth. However, investors should be aware of the risk that elevated provisions for credit losses could still pressure margins.
