RBC Records Record Q3 Earnings on Diversified Growth
Royal Bank of Canada posted record net income of $6.0 billion for its third quarter ended July 31, 2026, driven by higher fee-based wealth management revenue, robust capital markets performance, and net interest income growth across personal, commercial, and wealth segments.
The bank's diluted EPS was $4.23, up 11% year over year, while adjusted net income reached $6.1 billion. Pre-provision, pre-tax earnings were a strong $8.7 billion, with credit quality remaining stable at a total provisions for credit losses of $1.0 billion.
RBC's diversified business model and strong capital position supported growth and consistent capital returns to shareholders, with the bank returning $4.0 billion through buybacks and dividends. Segment results were mixed, but generally positive, with double-digit net income growth in Commercial Banking, Wealth Management, and Capital Markets offset by softer performance in Personal Banking and Insurance.
