RBC Seeks Further Gains After $2 Billion Deal
Royal Bank of Canada is poised for further gains after recently completing a major transaction and announcing plans to repurchase up to 45 million shares. The bank has agreed to sell Moneris Solutions Corp., its jointly owned payment processor, to Francisco Partners for $2 billion. This deal will provide Royal Bank of Canada with a significant cash inflow and create new capital flexibility.
The bank's recent share buybacks have already seen it repurchase 7.386 million shares for CA$1,673 million between February and April 2026. The company has scheduled the release of its Q3 2026 results for August 27, 2026.
According to technical analysis, Royal Bank of Canada's price remains above its key moving averages on the hourly chart, reflecting persistent upward momentum. However, mixed signals from certain indicators suggest a degree of caution despite strong momentum.
