Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has decreased its stake in American Healthcare REIT, Inc. (AHR) by 95.4% during the first quarter, according to a recent disclosure with the SEC. The firm owned 284,453 shares after selling 5,877,096 shares during the period.

This sale resulted in RBC owning approximately 0.15% of AHR's stock, valued at $13,414,000 as of its most recent SEC filing. Other hedge funds have also recently bought and sold shares of AHR, with Strs Ohio boosting its stake by 48.2% in the first quarter.

AHR has been performing well, with quarterly earnings exceeding expectations and revenue increasing 24.3% year over year to $674.25 million. The company has also raised its FY 2026 guidance to $2.15-$2.19 EPS, above the consensus estimate of $2.07.

Despite this positive outlook, analysts have expressed some concerns, including strong competition and aging properties in AHR's portfolio. However, RBC's significant decrease in stake suggests that they may be reducing their exposure to the healthcare real estate sector.
