RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra Meets US Fed Chief at G20 Finance Meeting
The Reserve Bank of India's Governor Sanjay Malhotra attended the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting in Asheville, North Carolina. During the two-day conference, Malhotra met with Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh and International Monetary Fund First Deputy Managing Director Dan Katz.
The meeting focused on global economic growth, financial stability, rising debt, trade, investment, and reforms to the international financial system. India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman led the country's delegation at the conference.
Sitharaman held talks with UK Chancellor of the Exchequer John Healey on trade and investment cooperation and met 3M CEO William Brown to discuss India's manufacturing, technology, and skilled workforce. The US is pushing for more balanced global trade and greater domestic consumption in China, which has a large trade surplus.
