Revolut Enters Stablecoin Market with Euro-Pegged EURR

Revolut has entered the stablecoin market with EURR, a euro-pegged digital currency designed to maintain a 1:1 value with the euro. The issuance of EURR is handled by Bridge, a stablecoin infrastructure company owned by Stripe.

The new stablecoin will initially be available to eligible users in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal, with plans to extend the service to other countries within the European Economic Area (EEA) by the end of the year.

This move positions Revolut to capitalize on the regulatory clarity provided by the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. By offering a euro-denominated stablecoin, Revolut aims to provide a compliant and locally relevant alternative to dollar-pegged stablecoins.
