Revolut Enters Stablecoin Market with EURR

Revolut, a UK fintech company, has entered the stablecoin market with its own token, EURR. Pegged to the euro, it will be available first in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal through the Revolut app. The company claims that this is just the beginning of its stablecoin strategy, which will include tokens linked to other currencies.

The combined market value of stablecoins has plateaued in 2026 after years of rapid growth. According to DefiLlama, USDT and USDC dominate the market, accounting for around 85% of stablecoins in circulation. Euro-linked tokens make up a tiny portion of the total market.

Revolut's EURR is issued by Bridge, which is owned by Stripe Inc. It will be integrated into the Revolut app, allowing customers to move between euros and crypto on-chain. According to Iman Olya, product owner of Stablecoin at Revolut, 'we are doing the exact same thing for crypto' as they did when eliminating hidden fees in currency exchange.
