Revolut Launches EURR: A Euro-Linked Stablecoin for Blockchain Use
Revolut has launched EURR, a new digital currency linked to the euro. This stablecoin aims to maintain a value of one euro and is designed for use on the blockchain.
The rollout began in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal, with further expansion planned throughout 2026 in other European Economic Area markets. Although Revolut is presenting EURR as its first stablecoin, it's worth noting that Bridge Building S.A., a company belonging to Stripe, is actually the legal issuer of the asset.
EURR will allow users to transfer euros directly to the blockchain environment without assuming exposure to other currencies like the dollar. The company aims to provide customers with a way to facilitate movements between fiat money and blockchain networks.
