Revolut Secures French Banking Licence, Eyes European Expansion
Revolut, the London-based fintech company, has secured a full banking licence in France. The licence was granted after a joint assessment by the ACPR and the European Central Bank.
The Revolut Bank S.A. entity will start serving customers in France before expanding to other European markets, including Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and Spain.
Nik Storonsky, founder and CEO of Revolut, commented on the development, saying 'This licence gives us the foundation to build the next generation of banking for more than 30 million customers across Western Europe.'
Revolut has recently announced plans to open its new Western European HQ in Paris by 2027.
