Revolut Secures French Banking Licence for European Expansion
Revolut has secured a full banking licence in France, enabling it to expand its operations across Western Europe. The company said the new entity will begin serving customers in France before expanding to other countries in later phases.
The French banking licence was granted after a joint assessment by France's prudential regulator and the European Central Bank (ECB). Revolut serves around 30 million customers in Western Europe, including almost eight million who joined during 2025.
Nik Storonsky, founder and CEO of Revolut, said: “This licence gives us the foundation to build the next generation of banking for more than 30 million customers across Western Europe.”
