Revolut Secures French Banking License for EU Expansion
Revolut has secured a full banking license in France, allowing it to expand its operations in Europe. The French subsidiary, Revolut Bank S.A., underwent a joint assessment by the French regulator ACPR and the European Central Bank before receiving approval from the ECB's governing body.
The company expects this new structure to enable faster adaptation of products and services to individual European markets' needs. Revolut will initially operate in France and later expand to other countries, including Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and Spain.
With over 30 million customers in Western Europe and nearly 8 million signing up in the past year alone, Revolut has a significant presence on the continent. The company serves more than 75 million customers worldwide.
