Revolut has obtained a full French banking licence for its subsidiary Revolut Bank S.A., following a joint assessment by the European Central Bank (ECB) and the French prudential regulator (ACPR). This development marks a significant step for the online bank, reinforcing its position among Europe's largest retail banks.

The achievement reflects months of close collaboration with the ACPR and the ECB, whose rigorous standards helped build the foundations for long-term growth in the region. Revolut CEO Beatrice Cossa-Dumurgier stated that the focus now shifts to execution, beginning with serving customers in France before progressively expanding across Western Europe.

Revolut will open its new Western European headquarters in Paris in 2027 and begin serving European consumers in stages, starting with France. Other markets such as Ireland, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Portugal will follow in phases.
